INTERESTING CRICKET MATCH (Herald Correspondent.) A very interesting game of cricket was played in perfect weather when the Tokomaru Bay team visited Waipiro last week-end. Tokomaru batted first and compiled the fair total of 182, a feature of their innings being a century by J. Moody. Waipiro’s first innings of 149, which included a line 65 by F. W. J. Fox, decided the match in favor ol Tokomaru. On putting Tokomaru in again, Waipiro had them all out lor 86 in a brisk innings, which left Waipiro just half-an-hour before the drawing ol stumps to make up the difference of 118. By some hard hitting from Fox and Gilmore they managed to reach 79 for the loss of two wickets. Tokomaru’s fielding was good and some nice catches were held. He was elected captain of the team at the commencement ol the season, but after playing in only one match found that iiis work necessitated his retirement. Mr. Kissling is now managing Te Porn station His absence is regretted by every member of the club, •is be was an enthusiastic and capable skipper. The future control of the team is now in the very able hands of Mr. >l. J. Gilmore.
