AEROPLANE TRAGEDY
RECOVERY OF BODIES SUNNY WEATHER ASSISTS (l’er Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, this day. Sunny weather to-day is assisting tho transport of the bodies of the victims of the aeroplane smash, and the bodies are expected to arrive at Turiwhate late tins afternoon The funerals will be Held .to-morrow at Hokitika. Many messages of sympathy have been received.
Mr. Lynch, who was a native of Hokitika, was formerly manager of tho National Bank, but lie retired in 1898 to become a principal of the auctioneering firm of Mark Sprot and Company, lie was one of the best-known personalities of the West Coast and lie inis been prominent in the commercial and civil life of Greymouth for many years. had large business interests in Westland. Ho was the founder of the Dobson Colliery and lie was also associated with the Bellevuo Mine. Ho was a senior trustee of the Hokitika Savings Bank and a director of the Grey River Argus, tho West Coast Times, and the Fresh Food and Ico Company. Apart from his service as a member of the Greymouth Borough Council, he was Mayor from 1917 until 1923. In 1922 lie contested the Westland seat in Parliament. His wife and a daughter, Miss Sheevra Lynch, live in Christchurch.
