London —Oct. 31: Arrived, at Panama, Ruahine and Canadian Leader; at Honolulu, Mainposa. Sailed, Tuscan Star, from Balboa.
The decision of the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association to award the 1934 championship regatta to Marlborough association was not in line with the recently-expressed wish of the East Coast association, which favored Auckland as the base of the championship regatta, in view of the fact that three or four clubs of that district are celebrating their jubilee anniversaries this season. However, the decision of the conference will perhaps facilitate the plans for district representation at the championship regatta, one local club having decided to send crews if possible, while other E'ast Coast association clubs probably will give the matter consideration likewise. It is most likely that the Gisborne club will send crews to the Wellington regatta, which takes place a week prior to the championship fixture at Picton, and if any crew shows sufficient promise to warrai.it the additional effort, it will go on to the major regatta from Wellington. Club members who may he called on to fill the crews have endeavored to fix their annual leavo at the appropriate period of the season.
