Originally the object was to promote easy starting, but a more important result should be a considerable addition lo the life of cylinders, while, if another healing element is added to bring the oil to normal temperature, the prompt circulation which would be obtained should have the effect of materially reducing bearing wear, and obviating all necessity for preliminary musing id the engine.
