WIRE ACROSS ROAD

CNLSUAE .MOTOR ACCIDENT An unusual motoring accident occurred on the main road at Liehliold dining a severe southerly gale on Monday. A telephone post on a private line was blown down, and the line suspended across and about sft. above the roadway. A car driven by Mr. J. McLaughlin! of Tokoroa, ran into the obstruction and was turned completely over, the windscreen being shattered and the body damaged. Mr. McLaughlin was severelycut about- one arm. and two passengers suffered shock. The car was towed to Putarnru and after Mr. McLaughlin received medical attention he was able to proceed to his home.
