ORDER OF FORESTERS

QUARTERLY MEETING There was a record attendance ot members ol the Foresters’ order last night at the Masonic Hall, Childers road. Bro. .). Williamson occupied the chief ranger’s chair, supported on the dais l>v past chiefs Bros. Sparrow, File, Williams. Foster, Robinson, Bryce and Ilambling.

The chief ranger opened the court in the new' ritual manner, and the various officers showed an improvement in their duties. The roll call was read by INO.R. Bro. Venables, and responded to by P.C.R. Bro. Humbling, one. apology being received. It was reported that Bros. Leqnosne. Morrow, Blakely. Morrison, Pool, Had. Lerov and McDonnell were still on tho sick fund. For the benefit ot the brethren present. Bro. Bruce gave an interesting account- of the meeting with the Hospital Board in reference, to the court's agreement. Several brethren spoke on this subject, stating it was working satisfactorily. The next item of interest was the court, surplus. Bro. Bruce gave a review of the surplus of previous years, namely. 1916, 1921. 1926, and the present vear. Various proposals were put forward as to how the surplus should he applied. Bio. .1. .). Macdonald suggested that the secretary, Bro. t\ S.

Bruce, was the brother who could ad vise on such matters. It was finally proposed by P.C.R. Bro. Vaughan, amt seconded by P.C.R. Bro. Bryce, that the court apply for the surplus for reducing members' contributions, and tor rehabilitation claims. This was carried unanimously.

The chief ranger adjourned the court as the woodwards had announced that supper was ready. During the repast, various brethren of tho old school gave reminiscences of llie earlier days of the court, when they met in the old Templar’s Hall. The younger members of the court toasted and drank the health of the old timers. Bros. Bushnell. Sparrow, Williams, Robinson and Gordon responded. Bro. Robinson sang an old time ditty, which was greeted with rounds of applause. 'The. court finallv closed with honors to the chair.
