(Herald Correspondent.) >Last- week-end the .final rounds of the men’s championships were played on the Tolaga Bay golf links, when the weather compared very favorably with that which had been experienced for the previous rounds. The senior championship was won by V. F. Hurlstone, 83, 83, 78, 86— 330. .The j unior event was won bv McCreedy, 85, 90, 88, 86—349, with R. Moore runner-up, 350. Other good scores were Purcell 359, Tuhiwai 351, Hollis 382. and C. E. Smith 383. In the semifinal of the ladies’ championship, Mrs. Moore defeated Mbs Dunlop. 1 up, and Miss Haddock defeated Mrs. Ityall at the nineteenth. On Monday night the weekly euchre party was held, but owing to the inclement weather there was not such it good attendance as usual. The ladies’ prize was won by Miss Haddock, and the gentlemen’s by Mr. J. Callaghan. Oilier prizes went to Miss Callaghan and Mr. G. Holder. Last week's prizes were won by Mrs. 0. Taylor and Mr. H; Morrison respectively, while an estimating competition was won by Mrs. D. Hollis. Last Friday night the members of the Oddfellows’ Lodge held an open evening, when a large number of visitors were entertained in a manner which reflected great credit on the entertainment committee, . Ping-pong, indoor bowls, and cards, together with dancing and singing, helped those present to pass a very enjoyable time. Tt is anticipated that a sinjilar function will be held. soon. The friends of Mrs. G. Wilson will he pleased to learn that she has returned from hospital in Gisborne.
