ADDINGTON SALES KEEN DEMAND POE SHEEP ADVANCE OF 2/- TO 5/(Por Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. A short yarding of l'at sheep of fairly poor quality caused a sharp rise in prices nt Addington to-day. Values were a full 2s up, and in sonic cases Is to 5s up. Fat cattle also improved by IPs a head. Store sheep met u steady demand, particularly ewes with lambs. Tho fat cattle entry totalled 335 and the quality was better than recent yarding:*, with consignments forward from Otago, Southland and the West Coast. There was a steady sale, the top price being £ll 12s Od. A show bullock made £l4 12s Od, extra prime heavy steers to £l3 2s Od, prime heavy £9 10s to £.l2s, prime medium-weight £8 10s to £lO 10s. ordinary £6 10,s to £8; light to £0; extra prime heifers to £lO 17s Od, prime £6 1,7 s to £8 15s, medium £-1 13s to £6 ss; light to £4 10s;. show cow £lO 2s Od; extra prime £8 10s to £9 7s Od; prime £5 10s to £7 10s; medium £4 to £5 ss; light to £3 15s. Best, beef made 26s to 29s per 1001 b.; and in a few cases over 30s; good 22s to 265; heavy-weight ,19s to 225; medium 15s to 18s; rough, down to 14s. Fat sheep.—The yarding totalled 3000. The quality was below' the average, but there was a strong dc-j mand. Values: Extra prime heavy wethers made to 40s Id; prime heavy 31s Od to 355; medium-weight prime 28s to 3Js; ordinary 24s to 27s Od; light 20s to 23s (id; extra prime heavy ewes to 34s 7d; prime heavy 29s to 325; medium weight prime 20s to 28s Od; ordinary 23s to 25s Od; light 19s to 22s Od.
Spring Jambs.—The yarding totalled 220, the biggest this season. There was an easing in demand, but a steady sale at an average of from 9}d to lOd. Store sheep.—A fairly small yarding came forward, with not many outstanding lots. Ewes with lambs were in keen demand at good prices. Medium ewe hoggets made to 15s 3d. good wethers to 10s 2d, medium 12s to 14s 0d; medium m.s.' 13s to 15s; ordinary m.s. Ids to 12s; medium ewes and lambs (all counted) to Us Ami, ordinary 7s to 9s; good s.m. ewes to 18s 2d, ordinary Its to 10s; good wethers to 18s 2d; ordinary M.s to 10s.
Fat pigs.—A medium entry met with a good demand. Medium-weight porkers were in short supply. There was a good demand for baconers.

(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. Competition was again keen in most classes at the Westfield sale and prices generally were very firm on last week’s improved rates. Tho yarding of beef was slightly greater than at the previoues sale, but still met with a brisk demand. Prices showed a barely quotable rise. Extra choice ox sold to 20s per 1001 b.. choice and prime ox 17s to 19s, secondary aud plain ox 14s to 10s, prime young cow and heifer beef 18s to 20s, ordinary cow beef 13s to 255, extra heavy steers £8 15s to £9 8s Od. Heavy prime .steers made £7 15s to £8 7s Gd, lighter prime steers £6 15s to £7 10s, tight prime steers £5 17s to £6 12s od, small and unfinished steers £5 2s 6d to £5 15s; heavy prime cows and heifers' £5 10s to £5 17s C<l, lighter prime cows and heifers £4 to £5 ss, other killable cows £2 10s to £3 ss. those ruling at last sale.
