ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY CONFERENCE OPENED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this clay. The conference of electric power boards and supply authorities commenced to-day, Mr/J. A. Nash, M.P., the president, being in the chaff, 'lhe delegates included Mi's, E. R. McCombs, who is chairman of the electrical committee of the Christchurch City Council. The Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes and the Hon. J. Bitchener .were at the opening, and also Mr. li. E. Holland, Leader of the Opposition. Mr. Forbes said bo was quite willing to do anything reasonable to assist the association. Boards should always bear in mind the necessity of preventing overlapping, and bringing down the cost to consumers by means of amalgamation and in other directions.

Mr. Bitchener said that with ti e completion of the Waitaki scheme, New Zealand would be well provided lor iti the matter of electricity supply. Mr. Holland said the association represented one of the greatest social services in the Dominion, and ho believed that any reasonable requests made to the Premier would receive favorable consideration.
