SCHOOL COMMITTEES
CO-ORDINATING WORK NATIONAL BODY URGED (Per Press Association,) WELLINGTON, this day. A proposal that various school committees’ associations should form a national body to be known as ,the Dominion Federation of School Committees’ Associations is being considered today at a conference of delegates. Mr F. W. Ongley, of Wellington, is presiding over i 5 delegates, representing the Auckland, Canterbury, Otago, South Canterbury, Southland, South Taranaki, and Wellington associations. In extending a welcome on behalf of the city, the Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, expressed a hope that as a result of the deliberations, matters that came under the control of delegates would be .advanced. Replying, Mr. Ongley said he felt that it -would be a step in the right direction if a federation were formed.
