STRIKE TO CONTINUE
FELLMONGERY DISPUTE LEGAL ACTION POSSIBLE (Received September 27, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, September 27. The fellmongers’ strike is still progressing. * A mass meeting of operatives to consider the terms suggested yesterday, rejected the proposals. The Industrial Registrar was inlonned by the strikers’ leaders that the conditions offered were regarded as unsatisfactory. The indications now aro that the strike will be protracted. In view of the fact that the strike has dislocated the export trade, and the men have rejected the proposals lor settlement, there is speculation whether the Federal Government will invoke the Crimes Act.
The employers have notified woolselling brokers that they will not attend sheepskins sales as buyers, and a postponement of the sales is now being considered. The abattoirs strikers returned to work to-day, the dispute with the employers having been settled.
