PROPOSED NEW SCHEME AMENDMENTS BY HOARD (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Said to bo the first public announcement of tho proposals submitted by tbe London Importers’ Association to the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board concerning marketing, a statement was made by Mr. J. W. Kime, chairman oF directors of the Canterbury Central Cooperative Dairy Company, Limited, speaking at tho annual meeting to-day.
Mr. Kime said that the clauses were fully discussed at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board. After a slight amendment had been made to improve the working of the various clauses, tho proposals received tho almost unanimous endorsement of the conference. The Dairy Boat'd, at a later meeting, decided to put them into operation with some slight alterations. The. date of the -proposals coming into' force was not decided. The amended clauses now read
“The export of all butter and cheese from New Zealand to be under license granted by the Dairy Produce Board to importers approved by the board. The license shall provide that the licensee shall not. buy on bis own account New Zealand produce either in New Zealand, afloat or elsewhere, the board to provide, machinery for sale or transfer from one importer to another when the hoard's London manager is satisfied that such importer is short of New Zealand produce, either for pat or general trade. Dairy companies or proprietaries to he free to make i'.o.b. or c.i.f. sales on their own account. A regulation to he established by the board to provide that no f.o.b. or c.i.f. sales shall be made below London current prices at the time the sale is made.
“In connection with sales through brokers the buyer’s name to lie disclosed and goods to be invoiced direct ; brokers to be licensed by the board. “Where the general interest of the industry does not suffer by such action tiio board undertakes to give all possible protection to' existing contracts between factories and agents.
“Commission on landed sales to bo not less than 2% per cent, c.i.f. and f.o.b. sales not move than 1 per rent.’’ Additional clauses are : - “No averaging of returns will he permitted.
“A return of unsold stocks of consignments to he returned to the hoard each week.’’
