MEXICAN HURRICANE DEATH ROLL OF 500 (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received September 27, 3 p.m.) .MEXICO CITY, Sept. 26. All communication with Tampico was reopened this afternoon, and direct word was received that the death roll was 500 in Tampico. The military authorities report that, they rescued large numbers who were neck deep in water. All towns along the hanks of the Paimcotamesi and the shores of Lake Oarpintero have been destroyed. . while Tampico suburbs were severely damaged. An airman who circled the city said a majority of the largo buildings had resisted the shock, but fully half of the cheaper native dwellings were demolished,
