MANGAPAPA TENNIS CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING The boisterous weather ot' last evening prevented many members and intending members from attending the annual meeting of the Alangapapa Tennis Club, held in the board room of the Y.AI.C.A.
Mr. .Tames Nisbett was voted to the chair, and the usual business of the meeting was quickly dealt with. The committee's report on last year's activities was read by the secretary and showed a successful season, although the membership had slightly fallen. The tennis had been of a higher standard than usual and the club could boa9t of being the holders of the Miller Tennis Stars and nkso of the winner of the Poverty Bay junior championship.
The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr. R. M. Henson; president, Itev. Mr. Daniclls; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. .T. Walsh, P. Sim, Charles Matthews, E. Glnnville, J. J. Box, and L. Cooper; chairman, Mr. E. Dudley; secretary, Mr. I. Crafts; treasurer, Mr. ,T. Nisbett; club captain, Mr. E. Dudley; committee. Mrs. Dudley, Misses E. Robinson, E. Johnson, li. Hawkson, arid S. Lyons, Messrs. N. Redstone and .T. Wal-sh. Mr. B. Stielibury was reappointed green keeper.
A useful discussion on various items, and recommendations from the outgoing executive, among which was the'matter of tho installation of electric points for tea arrangements, kept the meeting until a late hour when a vote of thanks lo the chairman and the authorities of the Y.M.C.A. brought the gathering to a close.
