FINALS OF COMPETITIONS REP. TEAMS’ SATURDAY GAMES Thursday arid Saturday saw t Tie finals of the Gisborne basetball competitions for this season. On Thursday two B grade matches were played, while Toiaga Bay A and Hauiti teams from Tolaga Bay were visitors to town and played some excellent games against Athletic A and B and Ormond teams. These Coast teams were the guests of the Athletic club for lunch, afternoon tea and the evening. On Saturday next the senior T> team will journey' to Wairoa, where they will meet the Wairoa A and B representatives, playing both games on Saturday and returning on Sunday. Mrs. 11.I 1 . Fulton will accompany the team as manageress. The following is the personnel of the team: —Misses E. Nolan, N. Ansell, M. Emmet-son, T. Muirhead, M. Sutcliffe, F. Campbell, W. Paltridge, I. Choveaux, P. Beale, JR. Holmes, M. Thomson and N. Devery. On the same day it is the intention of the association to send two teams to Motuhora, where several games against country teams will he played. The B grade representative team has been announced as follows:—-Forwards. Mrs. Carlton, Misses P. Prentice and Curtis; centres, Misses T. Hutton, N. Henderson and N. Wilson ; defenders, Misses O. Norberg, L. Matthews, and M. Sim. The second B grade team is as follows : Misses N. Griffiths, E. Turner. R. O'Gorman, D. Cummings, K. O'Flaherty, J. Mel lor, V. Maseman, J. White, and W. Fenton; emergencies, Misses B. Pocock, C. Campbell, E. Ryan. Miss C. Mead will accompany the teams to Motuhora.

The annual meeting] of the Basketball Tennis Club will be held on Thursday evening and it is hoped that there will be a good attendance of basketball players. These courts have become very popular for tennis and special concessions are to be made to basketballers to encourage young players to take up the game.
