The breeding of horses was on the increase in Great Britain, and there was a considerable demand for good' working type animals, remarked Mr. R. Hamilton, of Kelso, Otago, who returned to New Zealand by the Port Alma on Sunday. He stated that the prices of pedigree Clydesdale horses had 1 increased to a largo' extent, as the animals were in great demand by overseas buyers.
