RAMSAY MACDONALD
EX-M.P.’s CRITICISM LONDON, Sept. 3. In his book, “Sailors, Statesmen and Others,” which will be published tomorrow, Commander Kenworthy, oxM.P.) says: “Mr MacDonald expected that at least 100 Labor members would follow him when he formed the National Government. I shall not be surprised if he takes a Viceroyship next year.” The writer scathingly .criticises Mr MacDonald’s inability to keep his friends. “The astounding Jimmy Thomas, alone of flic Old Guard,” he says, “seems to keep Ills influence—their alliance is one of the mysteries of post-war polities.” Gloomily discussing the future of the Labor Party, Commander Kenworthy says its lost leaders are lost for ever. “Mr MacDonald will certainly never return,” he says, “and I believe lie .does not want to, because he has found his spiritual home.”
