OAMARU HARBOR
PROPOSED EXTENSIONS A £96,000 PROJECT (Per Press Association.) OAMAItU, this day. Mr. P. W. Furkert, former engineer-in-chief of the Public Works Department, reported to the Oamaru Harbor Board yesterday on the proposed breakwater extension to enable the deepening of the harbor and a better entrance. His proposal was for a wing extending easterly 880!’t. from the present breakwatey, the, cost being estimated at £96,500. The board referred the report to the standing committee to report to a special meeting at a later date.
