WELLINGTON RACING CLUB OWNERS’ DIFFICULTIES (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. At the annual meeting of the Wellington Racing Club, the president, Mr. E. L. Riddiford, said that the year resulted in a profit-of £297, after allowing £2500 for depreciation. Owners had been hard hit, and falling stakes had not been balanced by any real decline in the cost of racing. Owners had continued nominating and racing horses in a manner that was a tribute to their enthusiasm. During the year, £25,217 had been paid to the Government in taxation.
Mr. Riddiford was re-elected presi dent, and Mr. J. W. Abbott vice-presi dent.
