WALKER BEATS VARGA A TERRIFIC SLAM (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. With it back loop slum in the fifth round, George Walker incapacitated Count Varga in a professional wrestling match to-night. A moderate house witnessed the match. Varga took a fall in the second round, 'hut at all the other stages Walker appeared to have the bout in hand. lie trapped Varga in the fifth round for a terrific slam, rendering him unconscious. PLENTY OP ACTION RUMBERG DEFEATS PEREIRA (l’or Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. There was plenty of action in the wrestling contest -between Hal Rumberg and A 1 Pereira. Rumherg won by two falls -to one. 'Several spectacular flying tackles roused the onlookers. Two of the falls were obtained following a series of these attacks.
Rumherg gained a fall in the third round with a press after a partial slam. Pereira evened in the fifth with a press after a series of flying tackles. Rumherg clinched tho match in the succeeding round with a fall from a flying scissors.
