BRITISH HEAT WAVE
FOOTBALL SUSPENDED LONDON, Sept. 9. The heat wave continues. Broadcasting from Brookman Park was suspended for an hour while the stall fought the ourushing flames from heath fires.
Rugby matches had to be abandoned owing to the hardness of the grounds. Steeplechasing was also affected. Milk is decreasing in volume and vegetables are becoming scarce.
