WEEKLY LISTS OF FAIR PRICES
WASHINGTON, Aug. 4,
Drastic steps are to be taken by the administrators of the National Industrial Recovery Act to preclude tho possibility of profiteering. These will include the publication of weekly lists stating what the Government considers fair prices for retailers to demand, Mr. Frederic Howe, of the Agricultural Adjustment Administration, announced to-day that bulletins will at first be confined to bread, milk, meat, and other foodstuffs. But clothing and textiles will be included later. Data will be gathered from 50 cities and 1000 different firms. These will show tho public what percentage of the higher prices is'going to the farmers, tho prices the fanners have to pay for their goods, and how much increased wages under tho new system is reflected in the new prices.
