CHINESE DEFENCES
40 BOMBING PLANES (Received September 11, noon.) SHANGHAI, Sept. 10. The first five of 40 latest bombing planes were christened at Hungjao aerodrome, where Japanese planes did so much damage last year. This is the first definite Chinese gesture of preparedness against similar incidents.
