VICTORIAN RAILWAYS
REDUCTION OF CAPITAL (Received April 37, 2 p.m.) MELBOURNE, April 17. The expert committee investigating the Victorian railway system intends to recommend a writing down of tho nominal capital of the railways by one-third, and also the establishment of a depreciation fund, which at present does not exist. Tho total capital on which interest is l)cing paid amounts to £75,000,000.
