Although Good Friday is observed as a Sunday so far as the. despatch of mails is concerned, the arrival by train I at Napier last evening of 50 hags of English mail for Gisborne resulted in :f> J special despatch being made., the mail; truck leaving Napier at 2 a.m. for Gis- i borne and arriving here at 11.30 a.m.!' The mail, which is the balance of the ' Rangitata’s big tally of 900 bags mid j 250 parcel receptacles, was; promptly j sorted on arrival, and a portion of it taken out by the postmen on their re-1 stricted second delivery, A special do- j livery of correspondence will be mu do from 7 to 8 o’clock this evening at the private box wicket.
