'Through the accidental exploding of a detonator Mr. Gordon McLeod, of Mataura, received painful injuries to both hands on Sunday. He was effecting repairs to a cigarette lighter and eeing in need of a, small metal cap elected what lie thought to be a fused detonator for the purpose. He was busy | Cling it when it exploded. It was found that the thumb, from the first joint and the tips of two fingers on the left hand as well as the tips of two fingers on the right hand, had been blown j away.
