In connection with the action of W. B. Clarkson v. the Halifax Insurance. Company, reported last ween, it is explained that the adjuster, in giving evidence, stated that had the plaintiffs books 'been kept in a proper manner, he. would not have met with the same difficulty and delay. On account of the lengthy nature of the case, cross-examin-ation could not be reported in full. The fact, however, is that the witness under cross-examination stated that the books were properly entered in accordance with the system used by Mr. Clarkson, a system which was in common use, but in the witness’ opinion books kept on this system did not disclose the information required by the adjuster.
