Ell captured the mile comfortably and Matthews filled second place in the half-mile. A similar position was annexed by McGregor in the 120 yards hurdles. Tho remaining Canterbury athlete, Broadway, failed to gain a place in the 440 yards, the only event in which a visitor was not placed.
