LOST DESTROYER

SEARCH PROVES FRUITLESS (Received Dee. 9, 11 a,m.) KOBE, Dec. 8. The lost destroyer, the Sawarabi, lias not been traced. The vessel sank in 70 fathoms of water.

The search lias been postponed pend ing more favorable weather.

The Japanese destroyer Sawarabi was proceeding from Kure to Formosa on Tuesday when she sank in a violent storm 00 mill's from her deal illation, Three other destroyers were in the vicinity, and they received the >Sawarabi’s distress signal, but owing to the darkness she was invisible. Ihe companion vessels picked up 14 of the crew, one of whom subsequently died. Altogether 107 are missing.
