FIVE-LETTER SYSTEM MADRID, Dec. 6. The British delegate to the Radio and Telegraph Conference to-day announced Britain’s acceptance of the five-letter code. It is i understood that this will come into operation in January, 1934. In the face of British and American opposition a plenary meeting of the Racb'o and Telegraph Conference, in Madrid on November 11, resolved to adopt the five-letter code in place of the 10-letter rode. It was stated Britain intended to continue her strenuous opposition.
