No fewer than nine ruling princes of India shortly will bo among the shareholders of the Pioneer, published in Allahabad, one of the best-known Indian newspapers. Three of them, the Maharajahs of Kashmir, Baroda and Gwalior are each entitled to salutes of 21 guns on ceremonial occasions. King George is entitled to no more.

Saluting guns will have to 'boom 170 times if all '.he royal shareholders pay stato visits to their‘property at the same time.

The Maharajah of Gwalior is only 16 years old; the Maharajah of Travancoro 'only 30.
