BOUGHT BY PRINCES ANTI-GANDHI INFLUENCE LONDON, Nov. 1. No fewer than nine ruling princes of India shortly will bo among the shareholders of the Pioneer, published in Allahabad, one of the best-known Indian newspapers. J lie Pioneer thus qualified ns the most royal of all royal newspapers. A syndicate, headed by Mr. J. 1. Srivastava, Minister of Lducation m the United Provinces, lias purchased the newspaper. The Maharajahs of Kashmir, Baroda., Gwalior, Travancoro, Bikaner, Patiala, .'Jaipur and Bhavuagar and the Nawab of Bhopal, all have promised to buy shares in the “newspaper, according to information reaching London. Three of them, the Maharajahs of Kashmir, Baroda and Gwalior are each entitled to salutes of 21 guns on ceremonial occasions. King George is entitled to no more.

Saluting guns will have to 'boom 170 times if all '.he royal shareholders pay stato visits to their‘property at the same time.

The Maharajah of Gwalior is only 16 years old; the Maharajah of Travancoro 'only 30.

Needless to say the policy of the news paper will be anti-Gandhi and anti-In-dian National Congress.
