PETROL STOVE EXPLODES WOMAN DIES FROM INJURIES Tho explosion of a petrol stove in a homo at Magrath’s Hill, Windsor, near Sydney, recently, resulted in a family of four —man, wife and two sons—being seriously burned. The woman, who was pulled out a a blazing kitchen by a courageous boy, died in hospital early the following morning. The deceased was Mrs. lima Evelyn Johnson, 45. The. injured were: Air. George Johnson, Norman Johnson, and Robert Johnson.

,Mrs. Johnson, on trying to light a petrol stove, had some trouble with it, and lighted the fuel stove in tho kitchen. Together with her husband and sous, she then moved tho petrol slovo near the window, and only a few feet away from the fuel stove, and tried to repair it. She released tho outlet from the tank and was catching the petrol in a dish when, apparently, tho fumes ignited from the fuel stove. There was an immediate explosion, and the whole kitchen was in flames.

The Johnson family, who were all alight, attempted to leave the kitchen. All succeeded in doing so, except the mother, Who fell to the floor. A boy, Harold Worthington, living with the family, hear dthe explosion and screams, and ran in from outside. He succeeded in pulling Mrs. Johnson out of the blazing khi.hen and put out tho flames on her clothing. The father was in a very serious condition.
