ARMY KIT-BAG

NEW STYLE ADOPTED (Received November 23, 2 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 22. Following the action in regard to the uniforms of members of the British Army, the authorities have decided to replace the old lut-bag with a pack, of which the lower half is detachable and can be left behind when going into battle. The idea is that the new infantryman must run like an athlete across bullet-swept zones, from cover to cover. The upper huff of the new haversack will include a minimum of necessities such as a mess-tin, iron ration, and cardigan.
