The Waiinea is expected to leave Auckland at 5 p.m. to-dav with cargo for Gisborne and Napier, like is due here on Thursday niorningi to discharge. The Poolta, loading for Napier and Gisborne, is expected to leave Dunedin this evening, work Op mar u and I imam to-morrow, and Lyttelton on lhursday. thence Wellington. The vessel is due at Gisborne again about November 2. The Katina, with coal from Greymouth 'and Westport, is expected to leave Wellington to-morrow afternoon for Gisborne, where she is due on Friday morning. On completion ot discharge here the vessel will sail for New Plymouth, via Wellington. The Piikura-will leave Auckland this afternoon for the Coast, Gisborne and Napier. She will arrive here on Thursday morning and sail later for Napier. The Awaliou arrived at Lyttelton last night from Gisborne, and ivill load to-dav for this port.,' the Coast and Waikokopu. She will work Wellington to-morrow and arrive here on Saturday. The Margaret \V will clear Auckland this afternoon for Tokoinaru Bay, Tolaga Bay and Gisborne, arriving here on Thursday morning. -She wilt he, dispatched that night for the northern port, via the Coast. The Tiroa commenced unloading her Auckland cargo this morning and on Thursday afternoon will be 'placed on the slip for annual survey and overhaul. She will resume her running in the Auckland service here to-day week.

The auxiliary scow Alwin G., which was sheltering at Tauranga on Thursday, is bound for Hicks Bay, where the vessel loads kahikatea- logs for Gisborne. The owners of the Alwin G. have entered. into a. 15 months’, contract to transport logs to Gisborne for milling and converting into.butter boxes. The Alwin (t. is in charge of Captain Cossentinc. Captain Cossentinc. said the weather during., the run down the .coast from Auckland necessitated sheltering in Mercury Bay and again at White Island, where some big seas were, experienced. As fresh water was becoming short it was decided to make Tauranga. for supplies and a more favorable turn of weather Conditions before proceeding to Hicks Bay.—Bay of Plenty Times. The centre of a rather intense, cyclone has been crossing northern New Zealand to-day, while a slight anticyclone had been situated to the eqst of the South Island. A more extensive anticyclone it; now moving off eastern Australia. Winds: Moderate to strong south-easterly to southerly, reaching gale force in places in and north of Cook Strait. Seas: Heavy north of Hast . Cape, rough thence southwards to, Akaroa and on the west coast of the North Island; elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sen:. Strong southerly winds,of gab? force, in the northern portion, with rough to, heavy, seafj, but wind and seas gradually decreasing,. Weather: Still unsettled, dull and misty, with further: rain in most districts. Many heavy falls in the North Island .with considerable flooding, especially in the northern and eastern portions; mainly fair, however, in Westland, and conditions gradually improving elsewhere, from to-niorrow. ,Cold temperatures. Temperatines at 9 o’clock were: Auckland 62 degrees, Tauranga and Gisborne 65, 1 Opotiki 67, East Cape 64, Napier 60, nnd Wellington 51. Rough seas were ,reported, at Wellington, Cape Palliser, gini Opotiki; elsewhere moderate or smooth. (Midday Forecast) The indications are for variable and moderate breezes, easterly prevailing/ Expect dull weather, with much mist and tog in parts. Rain probable, but the weather should improve gradually. The barometer has, a falling tendency. Seas, rough; tides, good.
