MATAWI-lERO STOCK SALE LOWER SHEEP PRICES At tiie weekly sale of the Poverty Bay Stockbrokers’ .Association bold at the Alutawhero yards to-day the market for fat sheep was apparently over supplied, as there was a general easing in prices. The market for store sheep slumped considerably and few of the lines offered before lunch were sold. BEEF 't'iie. prices for beef were: — 3 I’.A. cows, medium finish. £2 2s 6d ; 2 do.. £3: 2 good Hereford cows, £2 ss; 1 Jersey cow, 30s. EAT SHEEP There was an entry of 6CO fat sheep. Shorn ewes ranged from 4s to 6s: woolly ewes. 6s 6d to 7s sd; woolly hoggets, 9s; a few lambs, 11s. Second grade made 4s Id for shorn ewes and 4s 5d to 5s od for woolly ewes. Prices were: Shorn ewes.—l 6at 4s 6d; 27, 4s; 56, 5s 9d ; 24, 5s 6d : 18, 6s; 30, 5s lOd : IS, 4s lid ; 27, ss. The lop price for ewes and lambs was 10s 4d for a firstclass pen, and some lots failed to bring a serious bid. Quality hoggets made 9s and Gs 6d; fairly good, 7s 2d to 7s lOd. Empty owes wore hard to sell, forward shorn making 2s Bd, and woollies, Is 6d in hard condition and 2s 4d for fairly good-conditioned Lincolns. Wethers, all fat, made 9s 7d. and a pen of lusty stores 10s Id. The prices were: Wethers:—los, 4 and 6-th, good big stores, 10= Id: 123, a good pen, all fat. 9s 7d. Ewes and Jambs, —38 fairly good ewes and 38 fairly good ’Down lambs, 9s 6d : 14 good-conditioned ewes and 14 fair iambs. 9s 6d; 15 ewes, fresh condition, and 13 good lambs, B.s 6d; 122 good conditioned owes and 107 lusty ’Down lambs, ewes 3. 4 and 5-yr., 10s 4d ; 109 ewes and 112 lambs, same as last, 9s 9(1 , 45 owes and 52 lambs, a fairly good pen. 8s 6d.

Hoggets.—los. fairly good size, in good condition. 7s 2d; 73 wethers, good mze. in fairly good condition, 7s 10d : 62, well-grown, fresh condition, a good lot. 9s 6d : 275, good size, condition and skins, 9s.

Lmrity ewes.- -55, shorn, good forward. 9s 8d; 00, hard condition, Is 6<l: 53 Lincolns, in fairly good order, 2s 4d.
