OWNER WHO WON £18,540 The distinction of being the owner of a horse which three years ago won the wealthiest race in the world belongs to Mrs. E. S. Hobson, of Ventura, California, who wins a passenger on the Malolo, which arrived n't Auckland on Sunday. The horse was Crystal Pennont, which in 1928 won the Coffroth Handicap at Tcajuna, Mexico, earning for its fortunate owner a purse of £18,540, at that time the world’s record stake.
