ACCIDENT TO TRAIN CRASHED INTO TRUCK Skidding on rails, .which had been made slippery by a shower of rain, the engine of the 4.12 p.m. train from Wanganui to Mnrton on .Saturday crashed into a truck on the Okoia hill, near Fordell, damaging and derailing it. None of the passengers was hurt. The mishap occurred when the engine was returning for the second portion, after taking the first part up the -hill. It. was decided to reverse a train from Marton and .convey the 40 passengers from the damaged train to it, but this train was unable to climb the other sido of the Wangaehu hill, and some trucks and carriages had to be left behind. ' Fifty travellers from the slow tram from Marton and a number from tho 5.20 p.m. express were taken to Wanganui from Fordoll by car. The line was cleared in the early hours of Sunday morning.
