WRESTLING

DEMETRAL V. LIMUTKIN THRILLING BOUT EXPECTED 1 Tarry Demetral, the Greek wrestler, and Peter l.imutkin, the giant Finn, who are to meet in the Opera House tomorrow night, should stage a thrilling contest. Both men are great wrestlers, and have beaten some of the best grappleis in the world Peter Limutkin belongs more to the old school of wrestling than does the Greek, but lie holds the view that the out school can be taught nothing by the new. Limutkin has the distinction of having wrestled a draw with Hackensimdt when he was only half the age of the Russian mntman, who is still considered to have been the greatest wrestler the world produced. He lias also beaten Zvbzsko, while he wrestle.! a draw with Ted Thve and Al Karasiek, the “Russian Lion.” Demetral is described as a sensational wrestler, while Limutkin is more inclined to T.t> a scientific iimtman, although whenever the opportunity arises he gets m and sets after his man. He had George Walker almost defeated in his bout in Auckland until lie met with an injury. He is a very pretty wrestler to watch, and Ims a series of deadly holds, including one, the "Boston crab,” by which Kara Pasha wins most of his matches. Limutkin is quite confident of defeating Demetral on this occasion, and lie has been training very hard with that object in view.

Those who intend to see the bout would be well advised to hook their seats in advance, ns the contest is ifhousing greaf, interest. The Greek, who is one of /the “star” team of overseas wrestlers, is one of the most celebrated grapplers in the world; The first portion of the programme will comprise three amateur Touts, which promise to provide some really interesting sport.
