TENSE ATMOSPHERE
SITUATION IN INDIA THE CAWNPORE RIOTING (Klee. Tel. Copyright—-United Press Assn.) (Received April 8. 10 a.in.) CALUUTJA, April 7. The recent Cnwnpore rioting, which was far worse than was at first reported, has created a tense atmosphere between Hindus and .Moslems. Mr. Gandhi declares his readiness to advise the Hindus to concede practically all tlie Moslem demands for joint electorates in the now constitution if the community will become united. The European view favors separate electorates as the best guarantee of peace. Mr. James Peddle, a magistrate at Midnnporo. ■ was wounded five times by shots from a revolver while visiting Midnnporo school. No arrests have been made.
