THE SYDNEY CUP
DISAPPOINTING RACE SMALL FIELD AND SLOW TIME (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Pros* Vssn.) (Received April 7. .11 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 7. The Morning Herald says that in the slowest run Sydney Cup for years, The Dimmer emerged victorious from the smallest field for 23 years. After entering' the straight it was evident that only an accident would cause the defeat of The fjimmer. The late withdrawal of Chide,' Waterllne, and Soulton robbed the event of some interest, hut notwithstanding the small field it bus also to be admitted that the class of horse engaged did not approach the standard of- former years.
