'VARSITY CONTESTS (Par Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. A large crowd watched the semifinals in the inter-'varsity tennis contests this morning. Men's doubles: Cant and Andrews (Canterbury) beat Stedman and Stedman (Auckland), C—3, G—4; Barrer and Adkins (Canterbury) beat Long and Harris (Victoria), 6—2, 6—<3. ladies' doubles: Misses Rankin and Seavill (Otago) beat Misses Pragnell and Brlggs (Victoria), 6—2, 6—5; Misses Ballantyne and Calvcr won by default.
