BUSH FIRES RAGING

WIDESPREAD DAMAGE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN LOSS (Received Feb. 26, noon) ADELAIDE; Feb. 25. Bush fires are raging in the Ivahpo, Forest, Meadows, Prospect Hill, Nangkita, -Mount Compass, and; Bulls Creek districts. It is believed that they started: on the property of Sir Douglas Mawson at Blackwood Gully. A hardwood mill at Kulipo was razed, and also one near Meadows, where the damage amounted to £15,000. A band of 300 hundred beaters were driven before a fierce wall of flames and had to flee for their lives. Some working singly were cut off and*.surrounded by fire, being rescued) with difficulty. Many settlors’ homes .were destroyed.
