\ NATIONAL ECONOMY DUNEDIN TRADES UNIONS (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN', this day. At a representative meeting of the executive of local unions, Messrs. Baird, Robinson, Baxter, Harrison, Hanley and Herbert wore appointed to attend an open iconffereuco of trade unions at Wellington on March 10. .
A resolution was carried expressing indignation at the proposed 10 per cent, reduction of workers’ wages, and giving to the Arbitration Court, power to review awards.
The meeting expressed (lie opinion that this revealed the Government’s intention to preserve the Act merely as repressive measure, and expressed the intention la. resist both proposals bv every means in its power..
