Virgil Stamps
Schoolboys as well as adults will be interested in the beautiful new series of postage stamps issued by Italy in honor of the 2000th anniversary of the birth of the poet Virgil. The designs, of high artistic merit, illustrate quotations from the Georgies, the Eclogues, and the Aeneid, one of the most interesting being that in which Aeneas and his friends first sight the shores of Italy.
