LACKING IN STAMINA SURVIVAL OF THE UNFITS LONDON, Dec. 29. Sir George Newman, in bis annual report on the health of school children, says that Britain is annually saving 40,000 lives which were not being saved a generation ago. This preservation of the less physically fit children, combined with the fact that the birth rate is declining more rapidly among the better physical stocks than among tile less lit classes, explains why the present generation of school children may he relatively lacking in physical stamina and powers of resistance.
