SHOCK FOR FRANCE
MARSHAL JOFFRE DYING PARIS, Dec. 27. Marshal .Toffre's right leg lias been amputated. France is shocked to learn that the condition of Marshal Jo fire is desperate, and death ia only a matter of days. lie forbade until now the disclosure that he is suffering from arteritis of the legs. Ail operation effected a temporary improvement, but five specialists state that gangrene has supervened.
