J hev were immediately roused into action yesterday when they received a report that the acting-Treasurer, Mr. .yons. had threatened to form a coalition Government. Although the report was subsequently found to be false, a delegation left for Canberra, believin'* that a crisis in the Federal Labor Party was imminent.
Die delegation will investigate reports that the supporters of Mr. 'I heodore me endeavoring to reinstate him in the Trensiirershin in place of Mr. Lyons .who would probably tie forced into a position that would compel his resignation. It is stated that the Theodore faction has worked untiringly to achieve their ends. Followers of Mr. Theodore have frankly expressed disappointment at the success so far achieved bv Mr. Lvons with the Commonwealth loan. A.L.P. officials are anxious to avert an eledion at ell costs, campaign funds being particularly low at present. The acting-Oommonwealth Trens”rer. Mr. Lvons, continues to deserve well of his country. Undeterred hv senseless clamour, be stands for unity in a lime of national emergency.
