“A DRUNKEN FREAK”
MAN WITH AIR PISTOL (Per Pres* Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. What he described as a drunken freak led William Robert Sharp, 30, a laborer, to threaten two people with an air pistol and demand money m Manchester street on November 20. Sharp appeared before Mr. E. I>. Mosley, S.M., this morning and was remanded to Thursday for a medical examination. The accused said he had been working on the West Coast as a laborer. He came to New Zealand from England seven years ago. One witness said he certainly believed the accused had a revolver when he accosted him. It was sticking out of a pocket. _ The police said Sharp had taken a good deal of drink, but was not drunk. _____________
