RIFLE SHOOTING

NUIIAKA DEFENCE CLUB (Herald Correspondent) The members of the Nuhaka Delence Rifle Club held two matches during the week-end, the first, their regular threeweekly shoot over two ranges, 200 and 300 yards, for cash prizes provided by the club, and the other a special match over four ranges, 200, 300, 500 and 600 yards, for special prizes —first, a silver cup donated by the president and secretary, Messrs. C. McKenzie and I). Hughes, second, an aluminium casserole, and third a haversack. The shooting conditions were not so favorable at the longer ranges owing to the wind and continually changing light, and the scores suffered in consequence.
