HOLIDAY ACCIDENTS

3 HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS MOTOR-CYCLIST’S INJURIES Three accident cases were admitted toe the Cook Hospital during the week-end, the most serious being that of Mr. George Brown, a motor-cyclist who was injured on Saturday while competing in a motor-cycle race at the Ngatapa Sports Club’s meeting. Though details of Air. Brown’s condition are not obtainable from the Cook Hospital, it is understood, in town that an examination made yesterday revealed serious internal injuries which will coniine Mr. Brown to bed for three or four months. Mr. Brown is a railway worker, and a highly popular member of the motor-cycling community, and much sympathy will be extended to him in connection with his accident. The riders at the meeting competed at their own risk, and in the event of accident undertook to make no claim against the Ngatapa Sports Club, but it is likely that some form of benefit will be organised in connection with the case 6f Air. Brown. ‘ The other accident cases admitted to the hospital yesterday were comparatively simple. A native, Tua Eparaima. of Bartlett’s (Kopua), was admitted with mindr injuries, and the other case was that of a lad of eight, yoars, Lawrence Alonk, whose parents reside in Gladstone road. The lad’s injury consisted of a fractured arm.
